Online payment lets a buyer pay at checkout and lets Jukto mark the order paid by itself. This guide helps you pick a provider. Each provider then has its own step-by-step guide.

How online payment works#

Whatever provider you choose, the path is the same, and the buyer's browser alone can never mark an order as paid.

How an online payment is confirmed
How an online payment is confirmedThe buyer pays on the provider's page and returns to your store. Jukto then asks the provider's server directly whether the payment really happened, and marks the order paid only if the answer and the amount match.Buyer picks an onlinepaymentBuyer pays on theprovider's pageBuyer returns to yourstoreProvider notice (IPN),where usedJukto asks theprovider's serverPaid, and theamount matches?Order marked paidNot paid yet: orderstays unpaidYesNo
Text version of the diagram
  1. Buyer picks an online payment to Buyer pays on the provider's page
  2. Buyer pays on the provider's page to Buyer returns to your store
  3. Buyer returns to your store to Jukto asks the provider's server
  4. Provider notice (IPN), where used to Jukto asks the provider's server
  5. Jukto asks the provider's server to Paid, and the amount matches?
  6. Paid, and the amount matches? to Order marked paid (Yes)
  7. Paid, and the amount matches? to Not paid yet: order stays unpaid (No)
  • The check is always made server to server with your own keys. A forged return page or a fake notice cannot pay an order.
  • If the provider says the amount differs, the payment log shows "amount does not match, check the provider panel" and the order is not marked paid.
  • An online-payment order that stays unpaid is cancelled after the number of minutes you set in Checkout payment rules, and its held stock is released. A payment that arrives late is still recorded, and you are told to refund it.

Which provider should I use?#

Good starting points

  • You want cards and mobile banking on one page and already have an account: SSLCommerz.
  • Most of your buyers use one wallet and you have a merchant account for it: bKash or Nagad.
  • You want one connection for cards, bKash, Nagad and Rocket together: Paystation.
  • You have an EPS merchant account: EPS.
  • You have no gateway account yet: start with Manual payment and cash on delivery.

Watch out for

  • Do not expect to go live the same day. bKash and Nagad approve merchants on their side first, and Nagad also whitelists your server.
  • Do not connect several providers "just to see". Every provider you switch on appears at checkout.
  • Do not paste Sandbox keys and choose Live, or the reverse.

Compare the providers#

Fees are set by each provider in your agreement with them, so they are not listed here. Ask the provider for its current rates.

Checkout payment rules#

Next to the providers, the Payments group has a Checkout payment rules box.

  • Cash on delivery is always offered when no other way to pay is switched on, so your checkout never has no payment method.
  • Advance payment decides how much is paid up front: no advance, full payment online, a fixed amount, a percent of the order, or the delivery charge. The rest is paid on delivery.
  • Pay online is the heading buyers see over your online providers.

Common problems#

A provider is on, but buyers do not see it at checkout.

Check that the mode is Live and that every required field is filled. A Sandbox provider is never shown to buyers.

The buyer paid but the order is still unpaid.

Open the provider page, find the payment in the Payments list and press Check again. Jukto asks the provider again and shows the answer, for example "paid", "still waiting" or "no answer from the provider".

Which fees will I pay?

The fee is whatever your agreement with the provider says. Jukto does not add a fee. Paystation lets you choose whether you or the buyer pays its fee.

Can I use more than one provider?

Yes. Every provider you turn on appears as a choice at checkout.
