Connect HubSpot to sync customers and orders
Send customers to HubSpot as contacts and orders as deals: service key or private app token, scopes, test and common errors.
What it is#
HubSpot is a CRM. Jukto saves your customers (who gave an email address) as HubSpot contacts and each order as a deal. It does not send your order emails: use Brevo or Resend for that.
What you need#
- A HubSpot account where you can create a Service Key or a private app.
- A Service key or private app token with the scopes crm.objects.contacts.read, crm.objects.contacts.write, crm.objects.deals.read and crm.objects.deals.write.
Where to find your keys#
- 1
Open Service Keys
Sign in to HubSpot. Open Settings, then Integrations, then Service Keys, and create a key. If you already have a private app, you can use its token instead.
- 2
Give it the scopes
Give it the scopes crm.objects.contacts.read, crm.objects.contacts.write, crm.objects.deals.read and crm.objects.deals.write.
- 3
Copy the key or token
Copy it. You paste it into the Service key or private app token field in Jukto.
What Jukto does#
- Your key is stored encrypted for this website only. After saving, only the last four characters are shown. Test connection checks the key with HubSpot.
- Customers are saved as HubSpot contacts, matched by email address. HubSpot has no list to choose.
- Each order becomes a deal in the default pipeline, in the closed-won stage, with the order total and the order date.
- A customer is sent when an order is placed, or when you add a customer by hand. Only customers who gave an email address are sent.
- Under Customers and orders you can switch Send customers and Send orders on or off.
- Sync existing customers sends the customers you already have, in the background, with a progress line.
- HubSpot is a separate service: it keeps its own copy, under its own plan. Switching the integration off stops new data from going; it does not delete what HubSpot already has.
Test and turn on#
- 1
Open the provider page
Go to Tools, open Integrations, choose Email, then HubSpot and press Set up (it says Manage once you have started).
- 2
Fill in the fields and save
Paste each value into the field with the same name, then press Save. A secret value is stored encrypted, and afterwards only its last four characters are shown.
- 3
Test the connection
Press Test connection. Jukto asks HubSpot whether the saved values work and shows whether it worked and, if not, what HubSpot answered. The test uses the saved values, so save first.
- 4
Choose what is sent
Under Customers and orders use the switches Send customers and Send orders. They start switched on. Press Save switches.
- 5
Turn on
Press Turn on. Until then your website does not use it. Turn off stops it again and your saved values stay.
- 6
Send your existing customers
Press Sync existing customers. Every customer who has an email address is sent in the background, and a progress line shows how far it is. It works only while the integration is on.
Common errors#
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The provider rejected the API key. | The key or token is wrong or was deleted. Make a new one in HubSpot and paste it. |
| The key has no permission for this action. | A scope is missing. Add all four scopes listed above. |
| The provider refused the request. | HubSpot gave a reason in brackets. Read it and fix it in HubSpot. |
| The provider is busy (too many requests); it will be tried again. | Nothing to do. Jukto tries again by itself. |
| The provider could not be reached. | A short network problem. Test again after a minute. If it says the provider did not answer in time or has a problem on its side, wait and try again. |
