Email providers: which one to use

Send order emails through Brevo or Resend, and sync customers and orders to Brevo, Klaviyo, Mailchimp or HubSpot. Compare them and pick.

Email integrations do two different jobs. Order email sends the buyer a mail at each step of an order. Customer sync adds your customers (and for some services their orders) to a mailing service so you can run campaigns there. You find them in Tools > Integrations > Email.

Which one should I use?#

  • To mail buyers about their orders, turn on Brevo or Resend. Only one of the two sends the order email at a time; turning the other one on turns the first one off.
  • Choose Resend if you own a domain and want plain, developer-style sending. Choose Brevo if you also want your customers in a Brevo contact list.
  • To run campaigns and flows, add Klaviyo, Mailchimp or HubSpot. They run next to the order email provider and do not replace it.

Order emails#

The order emails use the same five events as the order texts. They start with placed, confirmed and shipped switched on, and delivered and cancelled off. Each event has its own subject and message in English and in Bangla; the buyer gets the language you chose. Your text is followed by the order table and a button to the order page.

  • Sender: a sender name, a sender email and an optional reply-to address. The sender email must belong to a domain you verified at the provider, otherwise the provider refuses the mail. Without a sender email nothing is sent.
  • Words you can insert: {name}, {order}, {total}, {store}, {tracking}, {courier}, {link} and {items} (the list of ordered items).
  • Only buyers who gave an email address get a mail. Demo, POS and imported orders never send one.
  • Test: Send test email to me sends to the email address in your profile, up to 5 a day.
