RedX: parcels with a price check

RedX needs a single token per mode, which makes the setup short. The one thing to get right is to use the token that matches the mode.

What it is#

RedX is a courier that delivers parcels across Bangladesh and collects cash on delivery. In Jukto you pick the delivery area from one list, see the delivery charge and the cash-on-delivery fee before booking, and can cancel a booking from the order. It suits shops that want both a price check and cancellation from Jukto.

What you need#

• A RedX merchant account with at least one pickup store.

Where to find your keys#

   Open Developer API

   Sign in to your RedX merchant dashboard and open Developer API.

   Request the token

   Press Request token. Ask for the sandbox token to test, and the live token for real parcels.

   Copy the token

   Copy the token into API token. Make sure the mode you choose in Jukto matches the token you pasted.

   Choose the pickup store

   Leave Pickup store ID empty to use your first RedX pickup store, or enter the ID of the one you want. It must be a pickup store ID, not your shop ID.

What Jukto does#

• Keys. Saved encrypted for this website only.
• Area and price. The Courier card shows one list of RedX delivery areas. After you pick the area, Get the price shows the delivery charge and the cash-on-delivery fee separately, plus the total.
• Booking. Jukto creates the RedX parcel with the buyer's name, phone, address, area, the weight in grams, the declared value and the cash to collect (0 for a paid order). RedX returns a tracking ID.
• Status. Jukto reads open parcels every 15 minutes, or at once with Check status now. With the webhook set, RedX tells Jukto on every status change.
• Webhook. In the RedX merchant dashboard open Developer API > Webhook and paste the Webhook address from the RedX provider page as the callback URL. RedX does not sign its calls: the long code inside the address is the secret, so keep the address private. Jukto checks a status with RedX before it uses it. Make a new address replaces the code and the old address stops working at once.
• Cancel. Cancel booking on the order also cancels the parcel at RedX.

Test and turn on#

   Open the provider

   Go to Dashboard > Tools > Integrations, open the Couriers group and choose RedX.

   Choose the mode and fill the fields

   Pick Sandbox (testing) or Live to match the token, paste the API token and press Save.

   Press Test connection

   Jukto asks RedX for the areas of Dhaka. You see "Connected to RedX (sandbox)" or "(live)" with the number of areas.

   Press Turn on

   In Sandbox the parcels are test parcels. Move to Live with the live token when you are ready.

   Book one parcel

   Open a confirmed order, pick the delivery area, press Get the price and Book with this courier.
