Advance payment and online payment rules
Decide what buyers can choose at checkout, ask for an advance, and set how long an unpaid online order waits.
The Manual payment card in Tools > Integrations > Payments holds the Checkout payment rules. They apply to every payment method of your checkout.
What you can set#
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Offer cash on delivery | Shows COD to buyers. It stays offered when nothing else is on |
| Name shown to buyers | Your own English and Bangla name for a method; empty means the standard name |
| Offer manual payment at checkout | Shows the manual channels with your numbers |
| Pay online heading | The title buyers see over the gateways that are in Live mode |
| Advance payment | How much a buyer pays up front when paying by manual transfer or online |
| Unpaid online orders | Minutes after which an unpaid online order is cancelled |
Advance payment choices#
| Choice | Meaning |
|---|---|
| No advance: online methods pay the full amount | Online methods take the whole total |
| Full payment online (no cash on delivery) | Cash on delivery is not offered |
| Fixed advance, the rest on delivery | You set the Advance amount in taka |
| Percent advance, the rest on delivery | You set the Advance (% of the order total) |
| Delivery charge upfront, the rest on delivery | The delivery charge is paid first |
The rest is collected by the courier as cash on delivery. The order page then shows how much is left to collect on delivery.
Set the waiting time for unpaid online orders#
- 1
Find Unpaid online orders
It is on the same card.
- 2
Enter the minutes
Cancel an online-payment order that is still unpaid after this many minutes. The stock held for it is released.
- 3
Save
A payment that arrives late is still recorded, and you are told to refund it.
Common problems#
I set an advance but buyers do not see it.
An advance works only when a manual channel or a gateway in Live mode is on. Check both.
A buyer says they paid but the order is cancelled.
The order waited the number of minutes you set. See Payment gateways for how a late payment is handled.
