Open Customers. Everyone who ordered from your store is here, recognised by mobile number, together with the customers you added or imported.

The list#

  • Four figures on top: Total customers, Customers who ordered, Returning customers (2 or more orders) and New in last 30 days.
  • Search by name or mobile number. Narrow with Show: All, Ordered, Returning or New (30 days), and with a tag.
  • Sort by Recently active, Top spend, Most orders, Newest or Name (A to Z).
  • The table shows each customer's orders, Total spent and last order. Total spent is the amount received minus refunds, without demo orders.

Customer accounts#

Customers can order as guests, or create an account on your store with name, mobile number and password. You turn accounts on or off in Settings > Checkout (Customer accounts). On a customer's profile the Customer account card shows the status (Active, Disabled, waiting for a new password, or no password) and lets you:

  • Set a temporary password: the old password stops working and the customer is signed out everywhere. Then you call or message the mobile number on that profile yourself to give the password.
  • Disable account or Enable account. Guest checkout still works.
  • Remove account email, when the email belongs to someone else.
  • Delete account, when someone else registered with that mobile number. The customer and the orders stay in your store.

Customer tools#

Optional tools add reviews, questions, wishlist, back-in-stock alerts and recently viewed. Reviews, questions and wishlist are on for a new website; the others are off. Manage them in Tools; they sit in the Customers menu.

Common problems#

A customer does not appear

A profile appears after the first order, or when you add or import it. Search with the mobile number without spaces, or press Clear filters.

The same person appears twice

The mobile number identifies a customer, so the two profiles have different numbers. Edit the right one; orders are not merged for you.

A customer forgot their password

Open their profile and use Set a temporary password. Give it only on the mobile number shown there.
