Complete your store

The checklist card on the Overview walks you from design to your first order in 13 short steps: design, function and practice.

3 min readLast updated 23 Oct 2026

The Complete your store card sits at the top of the Overview. It turns a new website into a ready store with 13 steps in three groups. You can do them in any order, and you can stop and come back.

What the card shows#

  • A progress line such as "5 of 13 steps done" with a percentage.
  • The group names: Design, Function and Practice, each with a short reason.
  • The step you should do next ("Next: Header") and what else is still to do.
  • Steps you have no permission for are hidden, so the total can be smaller for staff.

Do a design step#

  1. 1

    Open the step

Press Edit on a design step. The builder or the settings screen for that part opens.

  2. 2

    Change it or keep it

Change what you like and publish. If the default already looks right, press Keep as is instead.

  3. 3

    See it tick

A step is done once you publish it or keep it. The chip changes to Done and shows how: "Published" or "Kept as is". Undo puts a kept step back to "To do".

When every step is done#

The card shrinks into a slim bar that says Your store is ready. It shows your store address with Copy, quick links to Home and Shop, and a tip to connect your own domain. Press Show steps to open the list again.

Common problems#

A step does not become Done

Saving a draft is not enough for a design step. Publish it, or press Keep as is. For Delivery charge, save a rule or the default charge. For Product, publish a product of your own, not a demo one.

I cannot see all 13 steps

Steps that need a permission you do not have are hidden. Ask the owner if you need them.

The card is gone from the Overview

It becomes the slim "Your store is ready" bar when all steps are done. Press Show steps to see them again.
