Staff roles and permissions

Add staff, start from a Cashier, Packer or Manager template, and tick exactly what each person may see and do.

Staff is a tool, off by default, with its own menu entry. Switch it on in Tools, then open Staff. Hiding a menu is never the lock: every permission is also checked by the server.

Before you start#

  • Only the owner adds staff and changes permissions or roles.
  • The number of staff is limited by your plan. When all seats are used you see "All staff seats on your plan are in use". The owner does not use a seat.
  • A suspended person frees their seat; reactivating them takes one again.

Add a staff member#

  1. 1

Open Staff > Members and press Add staff

Members is the first entry of the Staff menu and is for the owner only.

  2. 2

Enter the Name and the Employee ID

The Employee ID is used to sign in, for example rahim or E01: letters, numbers, dot, dash or underscore, up to 40 characters, and unique in your store.

  3. 3

    Set a Password

10 to 128 characters. Give it to the person yourself; Jukto never shows it again.

  4. 4

    Choose the Starting permissions

Pick a template or tick the boxes, then press Add staff.

Roles and templates#

TemplateStarts with
CashierSells at the register, hands over cash, sees customers. Signing in opens the register and their workspace, never the dashboard
PackerSees orders and products, confirms, sends and marks orders, books the courier. Cannot edit prices, products or customers
ManagerAll order work, product price and stock, customers, the register. Sees sales by staff, confirms "Cash received", gives tasks and sets register PINs for cashiers and custom staff
CustomEmpty: you tick everything yourself

A template only fills the boxes. After that you can tick or untick anything, whatever the role. A manager never manages another manager: you set managers' PINs and confirm their cash.

The permission grid#

Permissions are per area and per action.

AreaAreaArea

ActionMeaning
View, Add, EditThe Simple mode: look, create, change
Change status, Courier, Cancel, RefundFiner order actions in Detailed mode
Price, StockProduct price and stock changes in Detailed mode
Sell, Discount, Receive cashThe register actions
Publish, Delete, Export, Investment, Manage, ReplyOther actions where an area has them

In Detailed mode each permission is explicit: Edit alone no longer changes status, courier, price or stock. A member who still has older access shows a note until you save the boxes.

Counter discount limit#

Counter discount limit (%) sets the most a person may give at the register. It can be lower than the store limit, never higher. Leave it empty to use the store limit.

Suspend, reset password, see activity#

On a member's panel: Suspend signs them out at once and frees the seat, history is kept; Reset password signs them out of every device; Recent activity lists what they did. See Staff sign-in, Store ID and devices.

Common problems#

A person sees no menu entry for something.

They lack that permission. Open their panel, tick it and press Save permissions.

"A manager or cashier gets the access of the role. Choose Custom to pick permissions one by one."

Apply the Custom template, or use the grid after choosing the role; the role is where they start.

Can staff change their own permissions?

No. Permissions, roles and staff management stay with the owner.
