Plans, invoices and payment
How your subscription works: your plan and usage, renewals, upgrades and add-ons, what happens when a payment is late, and how to cancel.
Each website has its own subscription and its own bill. You manage it in Billing (owner only). The page opens with your Store status, then your plan, usage, invoices and payments.
Before you start#
- You are the owner. Staff cannot see Billing.
- You know which website you are looking at: the billing page belongs to the website you opened.
What the page shows#
| Part | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Plan | Your plan, its Status (active, overdue, maintenance, expired or cancelled), the Term (monthly or yearly) and Next due. Any outstanding amount is shown |
| Money-back guarantee | The days of the guarantee on your first payment for a monthly and a yearly plan (by default 7 and 30). Ask from Earnings, see the section below |
| This cycle | Usage against your allowance: Real orders, Sessions, and the Shared resources (image storage and visitor sessions are shared by all your websites) |
| Alerts | Warnings at 80% and at 100% of included orders and sessions, and the renewal date |
| Invoices and Payments | Every bill and every payment you submitted: Invoices and payment |
| Add-ons | Extra units you bought |
| Cancel subscription | Stop the plan now, or at the end of the term |
Choose, renew and change a plan#
- 1
Choose a plan (new or expired)
If you have no paid plan, Choose a plan shows the plans with their limits (products, orders and sessions per month, staff, storage). Pick a Billing period (Monthly or Yearly) and press Issue invoice. The plan starts when the Jukto team approves your payment.
- 2
Renew early
Renew early issues the renewal invoice now. When the payment is approved, the new term continues from the end of your current term.
- 3
Upgrade now
Under Change plan a higher plan can start now with a prorated invoice for the days left in your term. The plan changes when that invoice is paid. Your renewal date and the usage so far stay.
- 4
Downgrade or change the billing period
These apply from the next renewal. Press Request. Your products, staff, pages, tools and media must already be under the new plan's limits, and the page lists what is over.
The price you will be invoiced is shown before you confirm; nothing is charged until you pay the invoice. Nothing is charged automatically.
Money-back guarantee#
There is no trial. Instead the first payment of your account (the plan and the one-time service fee on the same invoice) can be refunded if you ask inside the guarantee: by default 7 days after payment for a monthly plan and 30 days for a yearly plan. The days of your plan are shown on this page, and the request is made from the Money-back on your first payment card in Earnings.
- Renewals, add-ons, usage, upgrades and the first plan of a later website are not covered.
- A refund cancels the subscription. The part paid from your wallet returns to the wallet; the rest is refunded outside the platform and the card shows the reference.
Add-ons#
Add-ons are monthly units on their own cycle: Extra employee seat, Extra landing page, Extra normal page and Extra tool slot. Choose the kind and quantity, press Add, and the first month is invoiced now. The units start when it is paid and renew monthly until you cancel. Cancel stops an add-on at the end of its paid month. Add-ons need an active paid plan.
If a payment is late#
Text version of the diagram
- Invoice becomes due to Paid in time?
- Paid in time? to Plan stays active (Yes)
- Paid in time? to Overdue: warning (No)
- Overdue: warning to Maintenance mode: buyers cannot order (Still unpaid)
- Overdue: warning to Pay what is due (Pay)
- Maintenance mode: buyers cannot order to Pay what is due
- Pay what is due to Store reopens after approval
An overdue payment shows a warning with the date to pay before. If it stays unpaid, the store goes to maintenance mode: buyers cannot order, and the dashboard is limited to billing and support. Paying what is due reopens the store as soon as the Jukto team approves the payment.
Cancel#
In Cancel subscription choose Now or At the end of the current term, add an optional reason and press Request cancellation. You must pay every open invoice first.
- The storefront closes. The dashboard keeps billing, support, order settlement and your backup.
- A full backup (data and media) is available for ten days after it is ready. Thirty days after the effective date the Jukto team may permanently delete the store's data. Invoices, payments and the ledger are kept.
- A scheduled cancellation can be withdrawn with Withdraw cancellation before the date. Choosing a plan and paying before deletion reopens the store.
Common problems#
"Pay the open first invoice before buying another plan"
Your first invoice is still open. Pay it first, or ask support to void it.
I cannot downgrade
Your products, staff, pages or storage are over the smaller plan's limits. Reduce them, then press Request again.
The plan did not change after I paid
A manual payment is approved by the Jukto team; the plan starts after approval. The Payments list shows it as pending review, accepted or rejected.
My store shows "Maintenance"
An invoice is overdue. Pay it in Billing and the store reopens after approval.
